1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to BioInformatix. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the BioInformatix website, learning platform, courses, educational materials, digital products, memberships, subscriptions and related services.

BioInformatix is operated by BIOINFORMATIX LIMITED, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under Company Number 17323302, trading as BioInformatix.

By accessing or using BioInformatix, creating an account, enrolling in a course, or purchasing a product or service, you agree to these Terms and any policies incorporated into them.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the BioInformatix platform or purchase our products or services.

If you use BioInformatix on behalf of an organization, institution or company, you represent that you have authority to act on its behalf where applicable.

Nothing in these Terms affects consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

4. Course Enrollment and Access

Following successful enrollment or purchase, BioInformatix grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to access the relevant course or educational materials for your own lawful educational use, subject to these Terms.

Purchasing a course does not transfer ownership of the course content or any associated intellectual-property rights.

Course availability and access may occasionally be affected by:

  • Scheduled maintenance.
  • Security requirements.
  • Technical problems.
  • Platform upgrades.
  • Content updates.
  • Third-party service availability.
  • Circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may update, correct, reorganize or improve course content over time where reasonably necessary.

5. Payments

Prices for paid courses, bundles, subscriptions, digital products or other services are displayed on the website or during checkout.

Payments may be processed through third-party payment processors or payment service providers made available through BioInformatix.

Where a third-party payment processor is used, payment information may be processed according to that provider’s applicable terms, privacy practices and security procedures.

BioInformatix may add, remove or change available payment methods from time to time.

You agree to provide accurate billing and payment information and confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.

6. Prices, Discounts and Promotions

BioInformatix may change prices for future purchases at any time. A price change will not normally alter the price of a transaction that has already been validly completed.

Discount codes, coupons, promotional offers and special prices:

  • May be subject to eligibility requirements.
  • May have expiration dates.
  • May be limited to specific products or users.
  • May not be combined unless expressly permitted.
  • May be withdrawn or modified for future transactions.

Promotional terms do not limit statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

7. Refunds and Cancellations

Refunds and cancellations are governed by the current BioInformatix Refund Policy and applicable consumer law.

Nothing in these Terms removes any statutory cancellation, refund, repair, replacement, price-reduction or other consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

Where BioInformatix offers recurring subscription products, applicable renewal, cancellation and billing information will be presented during purchase or account management.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, BioInformatix course content and platform materials are owned by or lawfully licensed to BIOINFORMATIX LIMITED and/or the relevant content creator.

Protected materials may include:

  • Presentations, slides, diagrams and graphics.
  • Source code, notebooks and scripts.
  • Datasets where applicable rights permit.
  • Exercises, quizzes and assessments.
  • Downloadable resources.

Except where expressly permitted, you may not:

  • Reproduce or republish course content.
  • Distribute or sell course materials.
  • Sublicense course access.
  • Share paid materials with unauthorized persons.
  • Record or redistribute protected video content.
  • Make substantial course content publicly available.
  • Remove copyright or ownership notices.
  • Commercially exploit BioInformatix content without authorization.

Nothing in these Terms prevents lawful use that cannot legally be restricted.

9. Software, Code and Third-Party Materials

BioInformatix courses may demonstrate or provide access to third-party resources including:

  • APIs.
  • Programming libraries.

BioInformatix does not claim ownership of third-party software, databases, publications, datasets, trademarks or other resources merely because they are referenced in educational content.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You must not use BioInformatix to:

  • Share your account with unauthorized users.
  • Copy or redistribute paid course materials without permission.
  • Resell or sublicense course access without authorization.
  • Circumvent access controls.
  • Scrape protected course content without authorization.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, servers or databases.
  • Upload malware or malicious code.
  • Interfere with website security or functionality.
  • Commit fraud or payment abuse.
  • Infringe intellectual-property rights.
  • Impersonate another person.
  • Use the platform for unlawful purposes.
  • Assist others in violating these Terms.

We may restrict or terminate access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been materially violated.

11. Certificates of Completion

Certain BioInformatix courses may provide a Certificate of Completion after applicable completion requirements have been satisfied.

A BioInformatix Certificate of Completion confirms completion of the relevant BioInformatix educational course.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, a Certificate of Completion:

  • Is not an academic degree.
  • Is not a professional licence.
  • Is not a regulated professional qualification.
  • Does not constitute university accreditation.
  • Does not guarantee employment or professional status.
  • Does not guarantee academic admission or credit.

Users must not misrepresent a BioInformatix Certificate of Completion as an accredited qualification where no such accreditation exists.

12. Educational and Scientific Disclaimer

BioInformatix provides courses and materials for educational and informational purposes.

Although we aim to provide accurate and useful educational content, scientific knowledge, software, databases, tools, packages, APIs and recommended practices may change over time.

BioInformatix does not guarantee any particular:

  • Research result.
  • Publication outcome.
  • Academic grade.
  • Employment result.
  • Admission decision.
  • Professional advancement.
  • Software output.
  • Experimental result.
  • Commercial outcome.

Users remain responsible for independently evaluating methods, results, software outputs, datasets and scientific conclusions before relying on them for research or professional purposes.

13. Clinical and Medical Use

BioInformatix educational materials are not intended to constitute personalized medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or clinical decision-making.

Examples involving genomic, biomedical, clinical or health-related data are provided for educational purposes unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Users working in regulated clinical, diagnostic or healthcare environments are responsible for ensuring that their activities comply with applicable professional, ethical, institutional, validation, privacy and regulatory requirements.

14. Artificial Intelligence Content

Courses involving artificial intelligence or generative AI may demonstrate third-party AI systems and related technologies.

AI-generated outputs can contain errors, omissions, fabricated information, insecure code or inappropriate recommendations.

Users should independently review and validate AI-generated material before using it for research, software development, analysis, publications, clinical work or professional decision-making.

15. Third-Party Services and Platform Availability

BioInformatix may integrate with or link to third-party services including payment services, software tools, scientific databases, analytics providers, hosting services, communication platforms, AI services and research resources.

Third-party services are subject to their own terms, policies, availability and practices.

We aim to maintain reliable access to BioInformatix but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

We may:

  • Perform maintenance.
  • Correct errors.
  • Modify website features.
  • Update course content.
  • Replace obsolete tools or demonstrations.
  • Introduce new services.
  • Discontinue features where reasonably necessary.

Where a material change substantially affects a paid product, we will take reasonable measures consistent with applicable contractual and consumer-law obligations.

16. Suspension and Termination

BioInformatix may suspend, restrict or terminate an account where we reasonably believe that:

  • These Terms have been materially violated.
  • An account is being shared without authorization.
  • Fraud or payment abuse has occurred.
  • Platform security is threatened.
  • Intellectual-property rights are being infringed.
  • The user has engaged in unlawful activity.
  • Suspension or termination is required by law.

Where appropriate and reasonably practicable, we may provide notice or an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Termination does not affect rights or obligations that arose before termination.

17. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.

Subject to the preceding paragraph and to the maximum extent permitted by law, BIOINFORMATIX LIMITED will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the platform where such losses were not reasonably foreseeable or where liability may lawfully be limited.

BioInformatix is not responsible for losses resulting solely from:

  • Misuse of educational material.
  • Failure to independently validate research results.
  • Unauthorized account use caused by failure to protect credentials.
  • Third-party platforms outside our reasonable control.
  • Use of educational materials contrary to their stated purpose.

This section applies except to the extent that applicable law provides otherwise.

18. Privacy

Personal information is processed in accordance with the BioInformatix Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.

Third-party services used by BioInformatix may independently process certain information according to their own privacy policies where applicable.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, payment arrangements, legal requirements, security practices or business operations.

The current version will be published on this page together with its revised effective date.

20. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights or jurisdictional rights that apply to you based on your country of residence.

Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of protections that cannot legally be waived.

21. Severability and No Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.

A failure by BioInformatix to enforce a provision of these Terms on one occasion does not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it in the future.
